After a successful limited return in 2015, Pepsi decided to bring back Crystal Pepsi to the masses in the summer of 2016. For the launch we partnered with one of the most nostalgic computer games of a millennial's youth, The Oregon Trail. The game was meticulously designed with the Deluxe version of the game - which was released the same year as the clear cola in 1992 - in mind.
We partnered with over 10 companies including JNCO, Tamagotchi, Creepy Crawlers and even beloved Nickelodeon star Marc Summers to make the excursion a truly 90's road trip. Events that popped up throughout the user's journey were turned into shareable assets to extend the experience into Pepsi's social channels and get the Twitter-sphere buzzing.
